And boycoting them appart from being unlikely to occur in the extreme, would plunge their country into a recession.These countries see the rest of the world and want the improved technologies/industries we have. They are adopting technologies that were developed in the US and around the world to power their society. If ! we had embraced clean energy we would have that technology to ! share, instead we stuck to what we know a carbon based energy and that is what they are using and developing in great numbers. We will never get anywhere if we wait for other countries who are decades behind us in development to match our efforts. Another thing you may want to consider, China has more than 4 times the population, yet just passed the US in energy consumption. Each US citizen used about 4 times the amount of energy as a Chinese citizen. They have population control and a government who has mandated conservation and sustainability, they are doing more than we are, so it is our turn to step up and do our part, we have had a pollution based economy much longer....Show more

In some ways, the fact they're adopting technology after we've tried it out means they can skip some of the mistakes we ! made. India will probably never see an SUV craze. People in China and India are demanding fuel efficient cars, and if American companies won't provide them someone else will. We can't control carbon emissions from Asia. The way we influence carbon there is by treaty, by sharing technology, or by being careful with our all mighty dollar.
