Someone Please Help, Explain why scientists study an organisms environment....?

Emile Okafor: They study it because organisms function differently in different environments. Organisms depend on their environment to survive, and each organism lives in a particular niche which is suited to them. They adapt to fit in each environment.

Ninfa Aronica: This sounds like a homework assignment. But the reason it's environment is taken into consideration, a better understanding of the organisms likes and dislikes can be understood. For example if a organism is found in an area that is considerably hot, an assumption may be made that the organism is a thermophile (heat loving) and the organism can not live in the cold; where this theory can be further tested by introducing it to cold temperatures and seeing if function and germination (reproduction) occurs. ...Show more
