what is the best way to get my landscaping business off the ground?

Rosella Figliola: You sound young but good for you to do the work. The most important thing you can do is get your name known. Use every and any type of marketing and advertising you can. Create flyers and leaflets talking about what you do and what you can provide for how much. Post them in libraries and other places that allow that to happen.Introduce yourself to everyone you meet. While you're standing in line at the store, talk to people, ask about what they would do. In fact, do a survey and ask about landscaping. Learn what people want and offer that.Lastly, call on business that have property. Talk to dentists and doctors, and other private businesses that need maintenance provided on their grounds. If you can get into landscaping for companies, people will be right behind.Meet as many people as possible. That's it. Call people, talk to people, go door to door introducing yourself, pass out flyers, everything you can do to get your name known. That's the ! way to succeed....Show more

Leann Villalta: Create a flyer for your business and put them on peoples cars at places like Walmart, Safeway, Home Depot, Lowes or anywhere you feel it would be good to put them. Also, after you do one job have the customer put a sign in their yard stating that you were the company that did the landscaping work. On the sign include your company name, contact information and types of services you provide. After each job you could ask your customers to spread the word to their friends. Make sure you get business cards as well. Dont limit yourself to a certain area. Expand your advertising....Show more

William Vickerman: Send flyers in neighbourhoods with LARGE properties that look like they need help. Then do an amazing job on the first neighbourhood to hopefully spread your business by work of mouth,
