Gerardo Greist: I don't know, because I'm 12 and I could totally kick butt in texas hold'em poker!!
Kris Bozelle: No - not illegal at all. The recent legislation was concerned with the banking side and was not directed at players - it's caused much confusion, however.I recommend you see http://www.atozcasino.com/play-online-poker.htm where you can find US-accepted online poker.
Hwa Waterford: There is a lot for them to do - highly suggest staying at the Orleans though - it is off the strip - but more family friendly than a lot and less expensive - especially mid week. They have bowling alleys, a movie theater, nice pool area and a kids club for kids 3 - 9. I have a 8 yo son, a 4 1/2 yo dau and a new baby. The other two have been a couple of times and love it. they always have fun. Some things to do: Paris - Eifel Tower is fun - watch the water show from there or go up at night and enjoy all the lights. Venetian - have ice cream at the canal shops and watch the! human statues, take a gondola ride, Circus Circus - rides, rides and carnival games - they can spend a bunch of time & money there.... Bellagio - watch the water show Mandalay Bay - Dolphin Experience MGM Grand - Lion Habitat & Rainforest Cafe (also a nice pool area with a lazy river) M&M World is next door to the MGM Grand - 4 floors of all M&M stuff and a free 3-D short movie Downtown and watch the laser light show - Freemont Experience at night. Outlet Shopping & Build-A-Bear Drive out to Hoover Dam for a morning and take the tour - very amazing. Take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon....Show more
Carlton Lastrapes: The current law on gambling is astonishing.Laws that allow casinos in one place, but not in others. Laws that allow casinos, but only if it is on a fake boat. Laws that permit gambling on an Indian reservation, but only if they don't use dice, wheels, reels or cards! Then you have weird anomalies like the fact you can bet horses in Virginia, eve! n if you are only 18, despite alcohol being served on the prem! ises. But if you organized a game of poker for money in the same establishment, you could be arrested. Similarly if the establishment put a single slot machine on the premises they could be closed down. Just as they could if they offered a greyhound racing bet, instead of horse racing. When it comes to online, the Bush administration didn't address the issue at all. Their moron radical Bill Frist merely slipped some anti gambling legislation into a 2006 Port Security Bill so that at there was never any debate on the law change.Frist claimed that gambling destroyed families, and yet included a bunch of free rides for horse racing, including the ability for most Americans to now gamble on horses online, with American owned and operated companies. No one has ever questioned the ability of people to buy and sell stocks online, even though day trading is for most participants, nothing more than gambling. And the vast majority of states now have a lottery, which raises billions ! of dollars for good causes. Yet as you pointed out in your question, many of these states ban other forms of gambling. Despite the fact that the lottery offers worse odds (house edge) than pretty much any casino game.It is not logical, and it makes no sense. There is no reason why the law should be this way. But it simply isn't a big enough issue for politicians to get involved in, so that's why nothing really happens....Show more
Toney Flaten: Roulette has extremely low odds of winning; switch to craps - much better odds
Kate Baune: Honestly Ive heard all of the systems found at tipsonplayingroulette.info work.
Bernadette Roel: Kids have never been able to gamble, play the lottery, smoke, drink alcohol, or drive, or vote until they are 18 years of age.
Leontine Kreitz: NO. IT IS NOT ILLEGAL. What is illegal is for the financial institutions to send money to any on-line gambling site, so there is no way you can deposit real money into any on-! site gambling site. If you had money on deposit with the site prior to! the law being signed, you can still play for real money. I play poker online every day for real money.
Tracy Huesso: To me it seems hypocritical.
Jude Colbenson: The game has a 5.26% house edge. You cannot beat it, plain and simple. If a system existed where you could repeatedly and consistently beat the game the casinos would change the odds or the rules.
Torri Tippey:
Lucille Saetteurn: Put everything on 22. Always.
Joan Stavropoulos: kids are underage which just shows they're immature and can't decide on their own.they could gamble however, if they're old enough. besides we don't want to see our kids gambling instead of doing their homework.
Morris Olexy: Double standard bastxxxxds
Antonia Boomershine: because its agent the law and if you bet something you don't have you mom or dad has to pay for it and if you don't got it that your @ss
Idell Syed: its illegal if you play for real money.
Jon Bergmeier: State lott! eries aren't considered illegal as its a way for the states to produce additional revenue to pay for certain services such as schools, roads, etc. Oregon, for example, has slot machines in almost every bar you walk into. Professional poker players play in certain locations where gambling is deemed legal. Indian casinos are one location where individuals over the age of 18 may go and partake in games of chance, as the United States has absolutely zero say in what goes on on tribal land. Only certain forms of gambling are illegal in certain territories, it vaires by state. Washington state has something on the books in which playing online poker is considered a felony and poker merchandise cannot even be sent into the state (like Bluff Magazine.) Other states just won't let you take a rake from your friends when they come over to play poker. Learning each individual state or city law can be tough, people do go to jail for not knowing exactly what the law is in their particula! r territory....Show more
Emeline Albracht: Don't play, it's the o! nly way.
Jon Bergmeier: double up method - until you win
Ruthe Real: There is a certain philosophy that says if you have enough money and can keep doubling your bet you will never lose. Try it online for free before you actually put money on the table though. Here is how it works.Say you start with $1000. Put $1 on either red or black. If you lose the dollar then bet $2. If you lose 2, then bet 4$ the next round, and on and on until you win. Then start over with a $1 bet and repeat....Show more
Adelle Weight: Gambling is gambling. Silly rules made by silly politicians with nothing else to do .
Mario Stricklan: Do you have your own money? I doubt it! You have to be a responsible adult to gamble. There are a lot of adults who shouldn't be gambling either. They are addicted to gambling and it is a real problem! When you grow up, that means at least 21, then you can decide if you want to gamble or not. Like I said before, be very careful - as i! t's very addicting!
Shelley Stevens: its illegal. not ok
Coralie Goldsberry: NO!!!! It's legal, even with the new law, that dosen't touch players, many site still open for U.S. players: FULL TILT, DOYLE'S ROOM, ABSOLUTE POKER, ULTIMATE BET.......and more. Millions of U.S. citizens play poker and gamble online every day and not a single one of them has ever been charged, fined or prosecutedI play poker for a living and of course I play online too, almost every days on several site. The new gambling law that Bill Frist decided to insert into an anti-terror bill only makes it harder for companies outside the US to allow gambling, and makes it harder to use American credit cards and banks.Stick with the main companies that still offer to do business with the US, and use Neteller to transfer funds and you will be just finehttp://www.onlinepokerfaq.com/guide/legal.htmlTake care...Show more
Caterina Yeargan: i know its not rite!!!!!
Toney Flaten: i don'! t think so. it's illegal to run the site in the USA.the government want! their cut of the money.if you win money, you'd have to report your earnings to the IRS.like in vegas.
Burt Stoecklin: bet red and black then you'll never lose
Carter Edstrom: No, the new bill that was passed does not make it illegal to play poker online, it only restated old laws that already existed such as it being illegal to use a credit card to gamble online. PokerStars.com, DoylesRoom.com, UltimateBet.com, AbsolutePoker.com, Fulltiltpoker.com + Many Many more are open for buisness. Only a few sites closed, and a few sites that helped you deposit.
Jene Kostyla: I don't think the lottery gives people the emotional rush that gambling does. Gambling can be addictive and let people lose their entire life savings in a span of an hour. With the lottery, people are more likely to spend a few dollars per week, as opposed to buying 10000 tickets all at once.Additionally, Casinos are for-profit and all the money makes goes to private owners. Lotteries are st! ate-run by non-profit organizations and the profits go to the state government....Show more
Florencia Manolakis: It's stupid, inconsistent and illogical. In other words, right in line with much of what politicians do...
Chauncey Williama: You can't.Roulette (and all other casino games) are designed so that the house gets a percentage of the bets. If I remember correctly, roulette is stacked for that the house benefits to the tune of about 7%.Example -There are 37 numbers on the wheel (or in some US casinos, 38) once you count the 0 (and 00). So the odds of picking the right single number to come up are 1 in 37(38). But if you do pick the right number, the payoff is only 35 to 1. This difference is what goes to the "house."...Show more
Mitchell Pickens: There are ads on TV all the time for Pokerstars.net and the like, so it probably is.
Bob Pucella: Calif. makes big bucks from our lottery. It goes to the schools they say. but we are now known to b! e near the bottom of the list nationwide in education. No real improvem! ents just a little paint and landscaping to make it look better.I don't want to see gambling either, as it brings in even more corruption.I'm sure most state lotteries are corrupt, but if the state runs it, it's gotta be legal and clean, right? lol...Show more
Russell Mckinzie: Wow! Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. I tried looking for the answer on other websites but I couldn't find them.
Antonia Boomershine: uh...Mr Poker Coach???.YES IT IS....The question is.. Can the U.S. Gov.catch you..?So the recent signing (on Sept 30th 2006) of the new PORT security Bill INCLUDED a sneaky addition to abolishing on line gambling. TOTALLY..how? By putting pressure on the on line off-shore casinos in Cypress, Isle of man , Philippines, England...you name it.So now they are afraid of prosecution by the US....sothey now ban US players.BUT there are a few that are NOT afraid of old Uncle Sam and it biz as usual .You just have to find them..Still. you WILL lose yo! ur money... so buy groceries instead.! ;-)
Ron Keliipio: because you're not old enough to be held accountable for your actions.
Rana Rudell: It never was legal for a minor to gamble reason is that they cant earn their own money which then lead them to a life of crime. They also are not responsible enough which can make them an addict to gambling especially when adults are also susceptible to addiction.
Miguel Densley: anybody know a goood method to beat roulette in online casino.i would reallly appreciate your answer.thanks.
