used car taxes/registration/fees in california?

Donte Liversedge: False. It will be MORE. Tax, registration, tire fee and doc fee adds about 10% to the sale price. Or about $1600 for your car. However, if the license on it has been recently renewed, you'll pay just a transfer fee. That can save you a few hundred dollars.

Curt Broadhead: hello.i just wana know if i buy a second hand car in california and i pay all the fees an taxes, when i go to texas for living should i pay all the fees an taxes again?or just for plate replacment i should pay.

Tyree Allenbrand: https://mv.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorWeb/usedVehicle... will allow you to find out exactly what the cost will be.

Cassey Hollinghurst: It is a used vehicle as soon as it is registered with the state. If the other registration didn't go through, it is still a new vehicle. Contact the service department of another dealer and have them pull up the "in service" date on the vehicle. This will truly let you know that the warranties began with your purc! hase and not back when someone else tried to buy it, but got turned down for bad credit. Good luck.
