Rosie Travino: I bought my kids cheap older cars that cost no more than 40 to 50 bucks a month to insure if they wanted better they worked and paid for it them selves.. simple. My neighbor bought his daughter a new car for her 16th birthday. she wrecked it that day and they had it fixed She wrecked it again 4 months later. Both time she was texting as she drove he listened to me and she is not driving. if you have no clue you have no car, she has been bitching and went as far as trying to sue her Mom and Dad for not supplying her with transportation. It didn,t fly....Show more
Lana Uliano: You don't really get a choice in the matter. Insurance is required by law in most of the civilized world. And in the few places where it's not required, it means you personally accept all financial obligations for any damage your vehicle causes. Getting caught driving without insurance is bad enough. Fines, suspensions, vehicle impoundment, and a surcharge added to your already! outrageous insurance premiums (which you'll need to pay to get your vehicle out of the towing yard).Getting into an accident without insurance just adds to the agony. In addition to all the fun stuff mentioned above, you also get to pay for the entire accident yourself. That's not too bad if you trash a $300 beater, but with your luck (and you're not very lucky) you'll end up destroying a brand new BMW and the owner will sue you for soft tissue injuries. That means you'll be working a second job for free (they'll take your paycheque before you get it) for the next twenty years to pay it all off....Show more
Silvia Stclair: No
Eldridge Rieves: It's worth it if you want to drive your second hand car. Park it in the garage out of sight and you won't need insurance at all.Worth of you car has nothing to do with it. Insurance covers what you damage determined to be your fault that belongs to others. Which means if you blow a stop sing and T-bone a Mercedes, th! ey don't care what your car is worth, they want theirs fixed.Y! ou also must take fiscal responsibility by law, which means you either have insurance or are self insured by giving your state a cash bond of at least the minimum insurance required....Show more
Gennie Shauer: You do not have a choice, Rob. If you wish to drive the vehicle, or any vehicle, it must have current insurance coverage. Period.
Sammy Kar: So you're such a shitty driver that you've completely totaled 2 cars before you even hit 25? And you can't figure out why your insurance is so high? Are you daft, kid?Oh, and you think it's funny.... That's just fantastic.
Bibi Tyron: If you crash into a ferrari then absolutely yes
Dick Maisenbacher: It isn't a question of whether or not it is "worth it". You don't have a choice. The law says that you must be financially responsible for any car that you own and drive. The best way to be financially responsible is to buy liability insurance.
Chi Alfero: If you plan on driving you need to at least! get the minimum liability coverage required by your state.
Chastity Doderer: "Worth" is subjective. But if you already wrote off 2 vehicles ( you don't say whether either or both incidents were your fault or not ), and you don't say how much you make so no can really advise you in this matter, especially since you don't mention how much your insurance would be...But the choice is pretty simple, do you pay the cost of insurance for the privilege of driving or do you use other methods of travel to save money? That choice is ultimately up to you....Show more
Dexter Gold: If you've written off 2 cars while under 25, then I wouldn't expect this car to last 3-4 years. But, to answer your question, it is worth getting car insurance at any age for any car. The value of the car isn't the real issue. The main reason for getting car insurance is because the other person in the car accident can sue you for the value of their car, their medical bills, their lost wages, etc! ., and this can easily cost you 10000 to 10000000 if you don't have ins! urance....Show more
