Kara Tabian: You can usually find bus service from many cities to anywhere. From Kansas you might be able to get a train to Chicago and then to Evansville. To rent a car you usually need to be 25 and to leave it in another city will probably cost a couple hundred dollars extra. I did that once, when I wasnt paying for it.
Charline Granes: Yes, there are rental car services in the USA that permit you to rent a car one place and drop it off somewhere else. Most of these companies require drivers to be 25 years old or older to get their standard rates. Some will not rent to young drivers at all. Some will rent to driver's under 25 but they charge more to young drivers. See second link. To rent a car, you have to have a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Find out if your driver's license from your home country will do or if you need an international driver's license. Also ask what will constitute proof of auto insurance and bring that.Public transpor! tation in the US midwest is not particularly good. If you can get a ride from Arkansas City to Wichita, you could take a Greyhound bus from Wichita, KS to Evansville, IN. See link below. Check with your university about the best way to get to the university from the Greyhound station. There is no longer passenger train service to Evansville, IN....Show more
Laveta Fathy: Yes, in the USA many car hire suppliers offer one-way options. The minimum age requirement for a car hire in the US is 21. If you meet this requirement, you can easily book a car hire to be picked up in Evansville and dropped off in Kansas City. But note that often there is a one-way fee for dropping off at a different location. Auto Europe offers some of the best deals on car hire in the US and our agents can help you get the best car hire that meets your travel needs. http://www.auto-europe.co.uk...Show more
Sonya Volcko: I am going to assume you are under 21 years old. In that case you can! NOT rent a car. No one rents to under 21 year old. and there ! is a huge fee to rent in one spot and drop off in another. and a huge daily fee if you are 21-24 years old. Unfortunately public transportation in the US, especially between states is very limited You may need to fly from Kansas to Indianapolis and then see what transportation can be found to the university. Call the university direct to find out if they offer any transportation to/from the airport. Or if there is an outside service. My daughter's university (in Indiana) charged $40 one way to the airport from campus. (or reverse) There just isn't a train or bus direct. Look for other routes. You may need to go to a different citieslook on web sites ofAmtrakGreyhound busMegagbus....Show more
